Graduate Program in Bioethics (Academic Master's and Doctoral Degrees)

Program Description

The general objective of the UnB Graduate Program in Bioethics is to study, research, discuss, deepen and (re)build the knowledge and references from Bioethics in the context of the most common problems in Brazil and Latin American countries. It also provides multi-transdisciplinary training in bioethics for professionals from different careers related to this new area of knowledge, work and research.

The specific objectives are to train professionals in bioethics from various academic backgrounds, from public and private sectors, members of committees, bioethics, professional and research ethics committees and councils, non-governmental organizations, liberal professionals, etc. Other specific objectives include technically and operationally preparing students to work in the above-mentioned organizations, as well as training future teachers and researchers in bioethics, producing and disseminating scientific research related to the bases of the discipline itself and to emerging problems, situations and conflicts in public health, for a better understanding, interpretation and intervention in reality.
