Graduate Program in Education (Master's and Doctoral Degrees)

 

Program Description:

The Graduate Program in Education of the School of Education of the University of Brasilia was created in 1974 with the master's program. In 2004, the doctoral degree was instated. The doctoral program aims to provide high level training and improvement of professionals committed to the advancement of knowledge in the area of Education, to the development of research activities and to teaching in higher education. The Master's program aims to promote the academic competence of alumni, contributing to the improvement of teachers and the initial training of researchers in the educational field. In addition to the master's and doctorate degrees, the program offers several specialization graduate certificates.

The Program has a highly qualified faculty, virtually all of them underwent postdoctoral stays, most of them have full dedication to the program. All permanent faculty members offer Graduate Courses at least once a year; and all of them are linked to research groups certified at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the University of Brasilia. Academic-scientific and pedagogical foundation of the program is based on permanent professors. Currently, the program brings together 56 permanent researchers and 2 collaborators, with participation and initiatives in teaching, research, extension and management activities. In addition, the program has collaborating researchers and postdoctoral researchers who are dedicated to scientific research, national and international exchanges, study groups and innovation practices. Several researchers have funded projects obtained from the Brazilian Federal Agency for Post-graduate Education (CAPES), CNPQ, Foundation for Research Support of the Federal District (FAP / DF). In 2018, the Program received a post-doctoral fellow and an international visiting lecturer, which demonstrates recognition of the excellence in training.
