UnB has nowadays 528 certified research groups, distributed in the fields of Health Sciences, Exact and Earth Sciences, Humanities, Applied Social Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Linguistics, Language and Arts, and Multidisciplinary areas. Most of the groups are concentrated in the Social Sciences, Humanities, Exact and Earth Sciences, and Health.
This research structure resonates in the existing laboratories, currently over 600, distributed in all the areas. This infrastructure is composed of a variety of specialized equipment and highly qualified technical staff to attend to the current research in different areas.

Besides the research infrastructure, the innovation ecosystem of the University of Brasilia comprises the Innovation Agency, which promotes business incubation, entrepreneurship and intellectual property, and the Scientific and Technological Park.
These innovation structures strongly interact with society and industry, enabling the transformation of research into products to improve the quality of life of local and national communities, reflecting the advances of knowledge produced at UnB, in line with themes of international interest.
