Medical Sciences
Program in Medical Sciences (Master's and Doctoral Degrees)
Program Description:
The Graduate Program in Medical Sciences was created in 2002, two years after the creation of the School of Medicine as an autonomous unit. Before that it was part of the School of Health Sciences. The Program aims to train human resources qualified to perform activities in teaching, research and generation and development of socially relevant scientific and technological knowledge in the fields of medicine and related sciences.
The regional / national insertion is a highlight of the Program in 2018, as it has contributed and continues to contribute in the training of teachers and researchers, especially for the Brazilian Midwest and Northern Regions. In the Federal District and Surrounding Area, our Program has trained a large number of alumni who work for public higher education institutions. Some of them are admitted as professors at the University of Brasilia, in the field of Medicine and other areas of health sciences. Others work for the medical program of the School of Health Sciences (Department of Public Health of the Federal District Government), as well as in the medical program of the Catholic University of Brasilia. There are also several alumni working in private institutions, including the Catholic University of Brasilia, the Centro Universitário de Brasília (UniCeub), the Universidade Paulista (Unip) and the Centro Universitário Euro-Americano (Unieuro).
