Molecular Pathology
Molecular Pathology (Master's and Doctoral Degrees)
Program Description
The Graduate Program in Molecular Pathology (PPGPM) was created in 1988 and restructured, as directed by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Post-graduate Education (CAPES), in 1995. PPGPM receives foreign students mainly from Latin American and Caribbean countries, students from different states of Brazil, especially from the Midwest region.
The Program has as its general objectives the training of masters and doctors and the development of multidisciplinary scientific research in the area of human and animal health distributed in three areas of concentration: a) Immunology, b) Biochemistry c) Genetics. Therefore, to achieve this general objective, PPGPM continuously contributes to: 1) stimulate the development of scientific research by training high-level professionals in the Midwest region of Brazil; 2) train competent teachers to work in higher education and 3) promote technological development that has its genesis within the various research projects developed by students linked to this program and which receives its seal of quality through the expressive scientific production and requests for patent that are annually generated through the joint work of the faculty and student body of this graduate program.
