Phytopathology
Graduate Program in Phytopathology (Master's and Doctoral Degrees)
Program Description:
The Graduate Program in Phytopathology of the University of Brasilia, based in the Department of Phytopathology, is linked to the Institute of Biological Sciences of UnB. The Master's degree was instated in 1976 and the Doctoral degree in 1991.The program offers training in all areas of Phytopathology and proudly follows the academic path of more than 350 alumni in the Academy, Manufacturing, Extension, Governmental and Non-Governmental Agencies, both in Brazil and abroad.
The Program was created from the need to increase the critical mass in Phytopathology in a country of continental dimensions, at a time when agriculture was emerging as the main alternative for the growth of the Brazilian economy. It was thus the first Graduate Program in Phytopathology outside the Southeast Region of Brazil. Today our program is the reference institution in Phytopathology in the Brazilian Cerrado, the main national agricultural region, producing original research in bacteriology, nematology, nematology and plant virology.
Research Topics
- VEGETABLE BACTERIOLOGY
